Solar Feed In Tariff Update

Solar Panels Installation Sutton, Ely, Cambs

Solar PV Installations still great value

Solar PV feed in tariffs from 1st November 2012 have now been confirmed

0-4kW Solar systems will now pay 15.44p per kWh and larger 4-10kW systems will now pay 13.99 p per kWh generated.

And we reckon it’s great news for the industry. Firstly because it confirms that a sufficient quantity of installation must have been completed since the last drop to hit the required figure enforcing the next tariff drop, and secondly this is such a small price drop it gives some much needed stability to the industry.

Shortly after the last tariff drop we noticed a small drop in the number of Solar PV orders but since then it’s been back to business as usual with 2 to 3 installation a month.

Solar PV still offers an excellent return on investment for most of the customers we talk to, its a great way of reducing electricity bills and we often use it as part of a combined heating solution where it can earn revenue whilst creating green electricity for powering heat pumps, immersion elements and other renewable technology.

12 Months ago you would have paid nearly £17,000 for a 4kW domestic installation, today its closer to £6500-7000 +5%VAT.

Don’t be put off by falling feed in tariff payments, as the reduced installation prices make Solar PV more affordable, with the average system returning the initial investment 7 years later.

Whether your roof faces East, West or South, Solar PV will work for you. We have installed on flat roofs, slate and concrete tiles. In fact, we’ve not found a roof yet that we couldn’t find a solution for.
