– 12kW Aarrow Ecoburn Plus Multi-fuel Burning Stove
– H3 Heating Innovation Panel
Mr & Mrs Day gave us a call with an interest in having a stove with a back boiler installed to provide the heating and hot water for the family home in Swavesey. Mr Day explained that he had a readily supply of wood which he could utilise throughout the year to keep his costs at a minimum.
Our HETAS engineer Will visited the ten-year-old property and carried out a site survey which calculated a 12kW stove was required. The well insulated home had an existing stove installed which needed re-locating to the front room. Will carried out a smoke test on the existing chimney and flu liner to identify any faults which would cause fumes to escape during the normal operation of the appliance and chimney.
After going through different options with our customers, it was agreed that an Aarrow Ecoburn Plus 12kW Multifuel Stove with a back boiler was the best option to provide the heating and hot water for the property.
The English made Aarrow Ecoburn Stove is designed with a large viewing glass window to create an astounding focal point proving to be an ideal solution for Mr and Mrs Day. The extensive view of the fire is kept crystal clear with the Airwash system and the secondary air regulator ensures complete control and efficiency of combustion. The unique bowl shape forces fuel into the centre of the grate, reducing levels of un-burnt fuel and the design of the bars benefits wood, coal and solid fuel burning all equally.
With the installation of a stove and back boiler, we always recommend the installation of a heating innovation panel to connect the solid fuel appliance (which is deemed to be an uncontrolled heating device) to the existing heating and domestic hot water system. The system is completely automated and has built in ‘fail safes’ in case of an electricity failure. (Please see photo to the right)
Our Engineers Will, Ben and Karl completed the installation over 8 days. First they relocated the existing stove to the front room and installed a new flue. Next they installed the Aarrow Ecoburn stove and connected it to the existing flue. Our team then replaced some of the piping work and linked the stove to the central heating system. Before leaving the family home, Will tested the new stove and showed Mr & Mrs Day how to use the system.
Mr and Mrs Day are delighted with their new heating system and are looking to have a solar photovoltaic (PV) system installed by our team which will enable the family to be completely self-sufficient.
