MCZ Hydro Biomass Boiler
Our customer Will came in to the Sutton Showroom and explained he was keen to upgrade his aging oil boiler with a renewable alternative. Shane went through the architects plans of the family home and together they discussed the different options available. Will explained that he had a stove installed in the family living room but very rarely used this room as the stove didn’t give out enough heat.
Will had a look at the biomass boilers and the Panasonic air source heat pump on display in the showroom and was particularly interested in the MCZ biomass boiler which we use to heat the office. Shane showed Will how easy the boiler is to work and the amazing effect given once lit.
The MCZ Hydro is an ideal renewable heating solution for most retrofits. The stove runs on wood pellets which are placed in the internal hopper at the top of the boiler. The wood pellets can be easily bought in 12.5kg bags and stacked neatly away in a garage or outbuilding. Unlike other biomass boilers, the Hydo provides the central heating and radiates 4kW of energy which is enough to comfortably heat the living room.
MCZ boilers can be managed by the control panel assembled at the top of the boiler, with easy and intuitive functions, suited to those preferring a truly simple solution. The range of MCZ boilers can also be controlled remotely from a mobile phone with a simple text message, ideal for when working unpredictable hours.
Shane visited the family home in Coveny, near Ely and carried out a site survey with a heat-loss calculation to determine what size system is required to comfortably heat the property. Shane took in to consideration the heating capacity needed for an extension which Will hoped to build within the next two years. Once Will had confirmed what colour stove he preferred, our team ordered all the parts needed and scheduled the job in.
Our HEATAS engineer Will and Apprentice Jack installed the boiler over five days. They removed the existing stove and installed a new flue in the living room before connecting it to the new boiler. Our engineers stripped out the aging boiler and neatly fitted the pipework though the void up in to the airing cupboard out of view.
Will is delighted with his new boiler and is looking forward to reaping the benefits from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for every kW of energy produced. In the winter months the family can finally relax in the living room in front of their cosy biomass stove.
